Job Connect

Job Connect is an Ontario Government employment preparation and wage subsidy program funded by the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities which is delivered locally to the surrounding area by Community Employment Services in Woodstock.
Job Connect can help people prepare for and find a job. Job Connect also works with employers to help them find and hire the qualified people they need. Services are available across the province.
Job seekers can obtain information on careers and occupations, the local job market, job-search strategies, training opportunities including apprenticeship.
Job seekers can also receive help with identifying skills, setting goals, developing training plans and participate in work placements or on the job training.
Employers who operate a business in Ontario, who are looking to hire staff, are ready to provide on-the-job training and / or who are seeking people who want to work, may benefit from Job Connect.
Employers may be able to reduce costs associated with training a new employee.
Employers can register job vacancies under the program to help employers find the right person for the job

Job Connect also delivers the Summer Jobs Service program for students who are 15-30 years old and returning to school. Local businesses and organizations can:
- obtain applications at Community Employment Services in person or

The Job Connect program has three services:
Information and Referral Services - a walk-in community resource centre for anyone seeking information on careers and occupations, the local labour market, training opportunities and job search strategies
Employment Planning and Preparation - helps people to clarify their employment needs, establish short and long term goals, develop an action plan and search for a job. Participants must be at least 16 years old, out of school and out of work, and not receiving Employment Insurance benefits.
Job Development Placement Supports - helps people develop their skills and gain experience through supports such as job trials, volunteer placements, job shadows, subsidized on-the-job training opportunities or direct employment placements. Available to people who are at least 16 years of age, out of school, out of work, not currently in a training program, and not receiving Employment Insurance benefits.
